April Showers bring MAY FLOWERS!

You have a wedding you're planning for and need beautiful flowers without spending a fortune! What do you do? Consider your options!

Buy Fresh Flowers: You can purchase flowers from the grocery store (Safeway generally has nice, fresh flowers), members-only store (Costco has a wedding flower package that is very affordable), flower market (Florida Market in Washington, DC sells wholesale flowers) or a traditional florist (Lees Flowers and Card Shop). Look on Pinterest for flower design ideas.

Buy Silk Flowers: Some brides want silk flowers (and some venues - especially historic ones - require them). Many stores (brick & mortar or online) sell them and the quality varies greatly (Michaels has a nice collection - wait for the sale! Dollar Tree also have a nice collection but you may need to buy more to get the look you want.). You can get almost any kind of flower in any color that you can imagine. Bridal magazines or Pinterest are good places to look for design ideas.

Rent Flowers: Some companies allow you to rent fresh or silk flowers (True Artistry has fresh flowers, Brightly Ever After has flower walls and Rent Event Flowers has silk arrangements for rent). Decorators may also have their own inventory and many can bring complete center pieces to use for your wedding so that you don't have to purchase anything. You can also add a few pieces to theirs that make the arrangement fit your theme more.

Use Alternatives to Flowers: Some brides don't like flowers and are looking for things that bring a personal feel to their wedding: leaves (green or fall foliage), branches (natural or painted), feathers (natural or dyed), plants, trees, ribbons, shells, etc. You can make custom center pieces and bouquets using items that speak to you as a couple. Nothing is off limits.......make it yours!
