Holiday Parties!!

Believe it or not, another holiday season is upon us and you're probably racking up invitations to holiday parties. Will you attend solo? Or as a couple? Is it work related or purely social? What will you wear? Who will do your make-up? All of these things are running through your mind....oh my!

You may also be planning an engagement or holiday party yourself and have so much to do! Where do you turn to? Who can help? The venue that you select for your event will help guide your planning. Some provide catering and bartending - others do not. Some give you the choice of bringing your own, some do not. Once you've decided on the venue and know their requirements, it's time to plan!

Of course planners are there to help you through the most hectic of event plans, but if you decide to do it yourself, there are other companies that can take some of the stress off of you. One type of company is a mobile bartending service. A good service can take one of the most important elements of a party off of your shoulders are provide a totally enjoyable experience for you and your guests. They help you plan the drinks that you will serve, suggest wines, create specialty drinks for your event theme and bring everything you need, including well trained staff, to serve your guests. This gives you time to mingle and enjoy your guests.

Each state, and each county within the state, has rules and laws about who can serve alcohol, how much, when and where. Don’t get surprised and find out that you can’t serve drinks how you would like to…..plan ahead! Venues that may need bartending services contracted separately can be: private residences, historic structures, museums, gardens, parks, beaches, boats, corporate parties, etc. There are basically two types of services: One provides everything you need to serve your guests – alcohol, mixers, juice, fruit, olives, etc. The other provides everything except the alcohol. These types of businesses will give you an “alcohol purchase list” based upon the number of guests you expect and what you want to serve – and can save you money because it allows you to purchase your own alcohol – sometimes at a discount – and to keep what’s left over. Some stores even allow you to return unopened bottles. Some also work with caterers and can provide a total package for your event. You need to decide which set-up feels most comfortable to you and then pick up the phone!
